already have an atmosphere account?

all of your data comes with you - your identity, your followers, your posts... there's no need to make a new account from scratch.

if you run into any issues, or need any help at all migrating, please feel free to reach out.

  1. get in touch and request an invite code by emailing hi@dummy.cafe, or reaching out directly below. make sure to include a link to your Bluesky profile or your Atmosphere handle.

  2. export your data. visit boat and use:

    — Export Repository, to save a copy of your records (posts, likes, profile, and so on).

    — Export Blobs, to save a copy of your attachments (post images, your profile pictures, and so on).

  3. migrate with PDSmoover:

    — for New PDS, enter https://dummy.to.

    — for Invite Code, enter the one-time code we gave you.

    — if asked to generate a rotation key, please go ahead and do so. this is a file that allows complete control over your Atmosphere identity, so make sure to keep it safe - meaning don't lose the file, and never give it to anyone.

    — fill out the rest of the fields as needed, and continue. PDSmoover will handle the actual migration process automatically.

  4. once the migration finishes: sign out of Bluesky (and any other Atmosphere apps) on every device, then sign back in.

    — some older apps don't support the modern login flow and will ask you to specify a server. if one does, enter dummy.to.

    — make sure to always sign in with your handle, rather than your email address - since you're not on Bluesky's hosting provider anymore, they don't know your email address.

    — if you accidentally sign into the default bsky.social, you may see an error saying your account is deactivated - that just means you need to sign out and back in with the right hosting provider.

need to get off your current provider urgently?

if your current hosting provider is unstable, hostile, or shutting down, do the following right away - before you even have an invite code here.

  1. visit ATProto Airport's ticket booth to add a new rotation key to your DID (your account's underlying decentralized ID).

    keep the private key file safe — it grants complete control over your identity.

  2. visit boat and use "Export repository" and "Export blobs" to save a full copy of your data to your own computer.

  3. with a rotation key, a repository export, and a blob export in hand, you can restore your entire account onto any hosting provider - your identity, followers, posts, everything - even if your current provider deletes your account or disappears.

once you're safe, get in touch with us. we'll get you an invite code, and help you recover your account with what you have.
