dummy.cafe is an ATProto personal data server (PDS), providing you a safe place to store your account and data, for use with any ATProto service, like Bluesky, Tangled, Leaflet, or any others.

additionally, we are building other ATProto projects that we're excited to announce once they are ready!

about the PDS

our PDS is hosted in Nuremberg, Germany, with regular backups, and provides handles on the following domains:

• - you.dummy.to
• - you.silly.gay

(in order to register a handle on a domain other than the default .dummy.to, you'll need to use the Blacksky app)

signing up

currently, in order to sign up, we require that you get in touch with us first to get an invite code. not for exclusivity or anything - we just want to make sure you're a real being!

you can do so by emailing hi@dummy.cafe, or by sending a message to April on one of the following platforms:

• - germ (will only work for people followed by April on Bluesky)

when getting in touch, please include a link to your Bluesky profile if you already have one, or if not, then another social media you might have.

additionally, once you have an invite code, please feel free to reach out if you need any help migrating or signing up to the new PDS! if you are currently on another PDS, please remember *all* your data can be kept with a migration - there is no need to make a new identity/account from scratch.

i need to get off my current PDS quick - it's shutting down/working against me!

if you are currently on an unsafe or unstable PDS and need to salvage your identity and data, please do the following in the meantime:

• - visit the ATProto Airport's ticket booth in order to add a new rotation key to your DID (decentralized ID). make sure to keep the private key file safe, it allows complete control over your ATProto identity!
• - visit boat and use the "Export repository" and "Export blobs" buttons in order to save a copy of all your ATProto data on your own computer.

once you have these three things (a rotation key, a copy of your repository, and a copy of your blobs), you'll be able to use them in order to restore your entire ATProto account onto another PDS, like dummy.cafe - including your identity, your followers, your posts, and any other data - even if your current PDS deletes your account or shuts down.
